| pigment |
Colored matter. Insoluble powder mixed with water, oil, resin, etc., and used to make paint. Pigments are subtractive in nature. The primary pigments are red, yellow, and blue. When mixed the color produced is the difference between the primaries. For example, yellow and blue make green, and an equal mixture of all three primaries theoretically make black.
