A frame of video is one picture or "still" out of a video stream. The structure of the frame depends on the standard being followed. An NTSC frame consists of 525 scan lines or horizontal lines of pixels. A PAL frame has 625 scan lines. By displaying frames in rapid succession motion is displayed. The human eye begins to lose the ability to distinguish individual frames at approximately 24 frames per second. Back to top
