feline respiratory disease c. a group of contagious viral infections of the upper respiratory tract in cats, characterized by fever, sneezing and coughing, and discharges from the nose and eyes. The usual cause is infection with a herpesvirus (feline herpesvirus 1) or a calicivirus. See also feline viral rhinotracheitis. Called also feline influenza.
