| dimethylglycine dehydrogenase |
[EC 1.5.99.2] a mitochondrial flavoprotein enzyme of the oxidoreductase class that catalyzes the oxidative demethylation of N,N-dimethylglycine to sarcosine in the metabolism of choline. It requires a folate cofactor and transfers electrons from its flavin moiety to electron transfer flavoprotein. The reaction occurs in the mitochondrial inner membrane in liver and kidney.
