| dermatitis multiformis | A chronic disease of the skin characterised by severe itching, extensive eruption of vesicles (blisters) and papules which occur in groups. May be associated with an occult malignancy in the elderly patient. Treatment includes sulpha-based antibiotics. In some cases this condition may be associated with malabsorption. | dermatitis, seborrheic | A chronic inflammatory disease of the skin of unknown aetiology. It is characterised by moderate erythema, dry, moist, or greasy scaling, and yellow crusted patches on various areas, especially the scalp.
