Fibrosis (rather than inflammation) of the arachnoid membrane with scarring around the theca and nerve roots. May be associated with chronic back pain. It may follow spinal surgery and has also been associated with the use of Myodil (an X-ray contrast medium) in the past.

An essential unsaturated fatty acid that's a precursor to regulatory substances in our bodies, such as leukotrienes, thromboxanes, and prostaglandins. It is found in animal fats such as liver and egg yolks and can also be created in our bodies from linoleic acid.
