a unilocular, cystic, often asymptomatic bone lesion usually occurring in the long tubular bones of children and adolescents; it is hollow or fluid-filled, lacks an epithelial lining, and does not penetrate the cortex or extend into soft tissue. Its origin is debated, but it is postulated to occur secondary to traumatic hematoma formation. Called also unicameral bone c.
