hepatic angiosarcoma a malignant tumor of the liver characterized by dilated sinusoids with hypertrophied or necrotic hepatocytes that leave vascular channels lined by malignant cells. It usually affects older men and has been linked to exposure to toxins such as vinyl chloride gas, inorganic arsenic compounds, and thorium dioxide. Called also Kupffer cell sarcoma.
