Chiari's malformation type II; herniation of the cerebellar tonsils and vermis through the foramen magnum into the spinal canal. It is always associated with lumbosacral myelomeningocele, and hydrocephalus and mental defects are common. Called also Arnold-Chiari deformity or syndrome.
