vision The regionally-agreed statement of the overall aims of the regional transportation plan. In the context of regional transportation operations, a "vision" is the regionally-agreed statement of the overall aims of the regional transportation plan; describes the 'target' end-state. Typically, a regional transportation vision will drive its goals (policy statements - the ends toward which effort is directed), objectives (measurable results), and strategies (ways/means to achieve objectives).
