operant conditioning is based on the concept that learning is a function of change in behaviour as the result a reinforcing and conditioning stimulus-response pattern (Open Learning Technology Corporation 1996). Learning is based on whatever happens after the reponse. Operant Conditioning is applied as a step-by-step procedure to affect changes in behaviour (Van Aardweg 1993: 137-138).
