The area a machine takes up in the clean room. This is important because clean room space is expensive, and so minimizing the footprint of a machine is a good thing to do. There are two numbers that semiconductor manufacturers are interested in -- the footprint and the linear frontage number (length of the front of the machine). The linear frontage number affects how many machines will fit into a bay since the machines are all lined up side-by-side. back to top
