A naturally-occurring white deposit of calcium carbonate that can form on any concrete surface. It results from the reaction of calcium hydroxide with carbon dioxide from the air and is a byproduct of cement hydration. It does not affect structural integrity and will dissipate over time. Efflorescence is not indicative of a flawed product. If desired, it may be removed by washing the surface with a special detergent cleaner.
