an autosomal recessive syndrome developing during infancy, consisting of erythema and telangiectasia in a butterfly distribution on the face, photosensitivity, and dwarfism of prenatal onset. Abnormalities in chromosome structure (sister chromatid exchange, q.v.) and in immunoglobulins are present, and there is a high incidence of malignancy, especially leukemia. About one-half of the patients are of Jewish ancestry.
