allogeneic Refers to getting bone marrow (or other body tissue) from another person, not your own body. Allo means other. Also see Autologous.

allogeneic The person donating the bone marrow or stem cells is an HLA identical family member, preferably a sibling. HLA refers to the Histo-compatibility Locus Antigens used for tissue matching. (Unrelated Allogeneic Transplant: the person donating the marrow is unrelated to the patient)
