r. commu´nicans al´bus ner´vi spina´lis [TA]  white communicating branch of spinal nerve: one of the two types of communicating nerve branches between a sympathetic ganglion and a spinal nerve; the white type are largely myelinated, send impulses from the spinal nerves to and through the ganglia, and are located mainly in the thoracic and upper lumbar region. Called also r. albus nervi spinalis. Cf. r. communicans griseus nervi spinalis.
