NADPH–ferrihemoprotein reductase [EC 1.6.2.4] an enzyme of the oxidoreductase class that catalyzes the transfer of electrons to cytochromes via oxidation of NADPH. It is a flavoprotein (FMN, FAD) occurring in the endoplasmic reticulum and serving as the initial electron donor in reactions catalyzed by cytochrome P-450 monooxygenases (e.g., unspecific monooxygenase). It can also transfer electrons to cytochromes b and c. Called also NADPH–cytochrome P-450 reductase.
