| tissue inhibitor of-metalloproteinase-3 | <chemical> A member of the family of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases. It is a 21 kD, nonglycosylated protein. Timp-3 does not show a high degree of structural similarity unlike timp-1 and timp-2 which are structurally similar. However, it does possess a high degree of structural similarity with that of chicken timp-3 (chimp-3).
