| lymphoma, large-cell | A form of malignant lymphoma in which the malignant cells resemble histiocytes morphologically but are presently considered to be derived from lymphoid elements. These cells are irregular in shape with relatively abundant, frequently acidophilic cytoplasm. Large-cell lymphoma can occur in both nodular (follicular) and diffuse forms, with the latter being more frequently seen. (12 Dec 1998) |

| lymphoma, large-cell, diffuse | Malignant lymphoma composed of large cells which may be both cleaved and noncleaved. The pattern is predominantly diffuse. most of these lymphomas represent the malignant counterpart of B-lymphocytes at midstage in the process of differentiation. (12 Dec 1998) |
| lymphoma, large-cell, follicular | Malignant lymphoma in which the majority of neoplastic cells within the follicles are large cleaved or noncleaved cells. The degree to which the follicular centre cells retain their ability to form follicles varies with the state of B-cell transformation. (12 Dec 1998) |
| lymphoma, large-cell, immunoblastic | Malignant lymphoma characterised by the presence of immunoblasts with uniformly round-to-oval nuclei, one or more prominent nucleoli, and abundant cytoplasm. This class may be subdivided into plasmacytoid and clear-cell types based on cytoplasmic characteristics. A third category, pleomorphous, may be analogous to some of the peripheral T-cell lymphomas (lymphoma, T-cell, peripheral) recorded in both the united states and japan. (12 Dec 1998) |
| lymphoma, large-cell, ki-1 | A large-cell, non-hodgkin's, malignant lymphoma with pleomorphic appearance and reactivity with the monoclonal antibody ki-1. The lymphoma is most often found in the skin and lymph nodes and expresses the ki-1 (CD30) antigen (antigens, CD30) on its surface. It is often mistaken for metastatic carcinoma and malignant histiocytosis. (12 Dec 1998) |
| anterior region of leg | The anterior surface of the inferior limb between the knee and the ankle. Synonym: facies cruralis anterior, regio cruralis anterior, anterior crural region, anterior surface of leg, facies anterior cruris. (05 Mar 2000) |
| bandy-leg | A deformity marked by medial angulation of the leg in relation to the thigh; an outward bowing of the legs. Synonym: bandy-leg, bowleg, bow-leg, tibia vara. (05 Mar 2000) |
| Barbados leg | <medicine> A disease of the skin, in which it become enormously thickened, and is rough, hard, and fissured, like an elephant's hide. Origin: L, fr. Gr, from, an elephant. Source: Websters Dictionary (01 Mar 1998) |
| bow-leg | A deformity marked by medial angulation of the leg in relation to the thigh; an outward bowing of the legs. Synonym: bandy-leg, bowleg, bow-leg, tibia vara. (05 Mar 2000) |
| medial cutaneous nerve of leg | <anatomy, nerve> Arises from the tibial in the popliteal space, passes down the calf between the two heads of the gastrocnemius and unites in the middle of the leg with the communicating branch of the common peroneal to form the sural nerve, distributed to the skin of the distal and lateral surfaces of the leg and ankle. Synonym: nervus cutaneus surae medialis, medial cutaneous nerve of leg, popliteal communicating nerve, tibial communicating nerve. (05 Mar 2000) |
| rider's leg | A strain of the adductor muscles of the thigh. (05 Mar 2000) |
| milk leg | An extreme edematous swelling of the leg following childbirth, due to thrombosis of the iliofemoral veins. Synonym: leukophlegmasia dolens, milk leg, puerperal phlebitis, thrombotic phlegmasia, white leg. (05 Mar 2000) |
| white leg | An extreme edematous swelling of the leg following childbirth, due to thrombosis of the iliofemoral veins. Synonym: leukophlegmasia dolens, milk leg, puerperal phlebitis, thrombotic phlegmasia, white leg. (05 Mar 2000) |
| musculocutaneous nerve of leg | <anatomy, nerve> A branch of the common peroneal nerve which passes downward in the lateral compartment of the leg to supply the peroneus longus and brevis muscles and terminate as the intermediate and medial dorsal cutaneous nerves supplying the skin of the dorsum of the foot and toes (except for adjacent sides of great and second toes). Synonym: nervus fibularis superficialis, nervus peroneus superficialis, musculocutaneous nerve of leg, superficial fibular nerve. (05 Mar 2000) |
