is a feeling of unease, apprehension or worry. It may be associated with physical symptoms such as rapid heart beat, feeling faint and trembling. A feeling of apprehension, worry, uneasiness or dread. Excess anxiety interferes with a child's ability to function normally. This is common in children who have been abused and neglected. Treatment can include medication and/or therapy. Almost all recently placed adoptive children will have some degree of anxiety (so will the parents!).
