Any of the four values that divide the units of a frequency distribution into five classes each containing the fifth (20%) of the total number of units such that the values corresponding to the units in one class are less than the first quintile, those in a second class are greater than the first quintile and less than the second quintile, and so on throughout. Quintile can also refer to each of the five classes that were created.
