A molecular biology technique for predicting the potential health of children as yet unborn by analysing an early stage embryo. Genetic testing is done within 24 hours, and if the embryo is normal, it is transferred to the uterus at the usual time. Also called Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) or embryo screening.
