Reduces driver fatigue dramatically through lowering engine speeds. Automatic fourth gear enables engine to 'loaf' at about 30 per cent fewer rpm's than at the same speed in conventional gear. In effect, engine runs at 35 miles per hour while the car is doing 50. This translates directly into gas savings and greatly prolonged engine life. ...
