| Sucquet's canals | Arteriovenous anastomoses controlling blood flow in the glomus bodies in the digits. Synonym: Hoyer's anastomoses, Hoyer's canals, Sucquet's anastomoses, Sucquet's canals, Sucquet-Hoyer anastomoses. (05 Mar 2000) |

| dental canals | Canals in the body of the maxilla that transmit nerves and vessels from the alveolar foramina to the maxillary teeth. Synonym: canales alveolares, alveolodental canals, dental canals. (05 Mar 2000) |
| dentinal canals | Minute, wavy, branching tubes or canals in the dentin; they contain the long cytoplasmic processes of odontoblasts and extend radially from the pulp to the dentoenamel junction. Synonym: dental tubules, dentinal canals, dentinal tubules, tubuli dentales. (05 Mar 2000) |
| diploic canals | Channels in the diploe that accommodate the diploic veins. Synonym: canales diploici, Breschet's canals. (05 Mar 2000) |
| interdental canals | Canal's that extend vertically through alveolar bone between roots of mandibular and maxillary incisor and maxillary bicuspid teeth. Synonym: Hirschfeld's canals. (05 Mar 2000) |
| interfacial canals | Intercellular spaces occurring in relation to intercellular attachments by desmosomes in stratified squamous epithelium, generally resulting from shrinkage of an artifact of fixation. (05 Mar 2000) |
| Kursteiner's canals | A foetal complex of vesicular, canalicular, and glandlike structures derived from parathyroid, thymus, or thymic cord; they are rudimentary and functionless unless persistent postnatally, when they may occur as cystic structures in the vicinity of parathyroid III and thymus III. Kursteiner described three types, type II canal's being associated with thyroaplasia. (05 Mar 2000) |
| lateral saemicircular canals | The three bony tubes in the labyrinth of the ear within which the membranous saemicircular ducts are located; they lie in planes at right angles to each other and are known as anterior saemicircular canal, posterior saemicircular canal, and lateral saemicircular canal. Synonym: canales saemicirculares ossei. (05 Mar 2000) |
| Leeuwenhoek's canals | <anatomy> The small Vascular canal's that run longitudinally in the centre of haversian systems of compact osseous tissue, through which the blood vessels ramify in bone. Synonym: Leeuwenhoek's canals. (05 Mar 2000) |
| limbs of bony saemicircular canals | The extremities of the bony saemicircular canals in which the corresponding membranous limbs of the saemicircular ducts are located; they are the common bony crus, simple bony crus, and ampullary bony crus. Synonym: crura ossea canalium saemicircularium, limbs of bony saemicircular canals. (05 Mar 2000) |
| anterior longitudinal ligament | <anatomy> The wide fibrous band interconnecting the anterior surfaces of the vertebral bodies. Synonym: lacertus medius, ligamentum longitudinale anterius. (05 Mar 2000) |
| medial longitudinal arch of foot | Formed by the calcaneus, talus, navicular, three cuneiform bones, and the three medial metatarsals. Synonym: arcus pedis longitudinalis pars medialis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| medial longitudinal bundle | A longitudinal bundle of fibres extending from the upper border of the mesencephalon into the cervical segments of the spinal cord, located close to the midline and ventral to the central gray matter; it is composed largely of fibres from the vestibular nuclei ascending to the motor neurons innervating the external eye muscles (abducens, trochlear, and oculomotor nuclei), and descending to spinal cord segments innervating the musculature of the neck. Synonym: fasciculus longitudinalis medialis, Collier's tract, medial longitudinal bundle, posterior longitudinal bundle. (05 Mar 2000) |
| medial longitudinal fasciculus | A longitudinal bundle of fibres extending from the upper border of the mesencephalon into the cervical segments of the spinal cord, located close to the midline and ventral to the central gray matter; it is composed largely of fibres from the vestibular nuclei ascending to the motor neurons innervating the external eye muscles (abducens, trochlear, and oculomotor nuclei), and descending to spinal cord segments innervating the musculature of the neck. Synonym: fasciculus longitudinalis medialis, Collier's tract, medial longitudinal bundle, posterior longitudinal bundle. (05 Mar 2000) |
| medial longitudinal stria | A thin longitudinal band of nerve fibres accompanied by gray matter, running along the surface of the corpus callosum on either side of the median line. Together with the lateral longitudinal stria it forms part of a thin layer of gray matter on the dorsal surface of the corpus callosum, the indusium griseum, a rudimentary component of the hippocampus. Synonym: stria longitudinalis medialis. (05 Mar 2000) |
