Used to describe the mass removal of Japanese nationals, naturalized citizens, and Canadian born Japanese from the "protected area" as documented in PC 1486, February 24, 1942. This process lead to the eventual resettlement of over 15,000 Japanese Canadians outside of British Columbia.

Once notified by the proper authority, the Town should begin evacuation by those zones specified in the evacuation order. The Town's EOC should be operational and ready to relocate off-island if advised to do so by Beaufort County EOC or the Town Manager. Evacuation on Hilton Head will take place in two phases. These phases, listed below, are described in detail in Chapter 5.
