erythropoietin
A natural hormone, made by the kidneys, that is important for the normal production of new red blood cells. In kidney failure, the production of erythropoietin is affected and new red blood cells are not made at the right rate. This then leads to anaemia, a common complication of kidney failure. ...

erythropoietin
A hormone normally produced by the kidneys. It maintains red blood cell production, and therefore haemaglobin levels in the blood. Synthetic erythropoeitin is known as haematopoietic growth factor which means it plays a role in regulating the production of a specific blood cell, in this case red blood cells.

erythropoietin
A hormone made by the kidney that stimulates the bone marrow to make red blood cells. Oxymetholone enhances the production and urinary excretion of erythropoietin in patients with anemias due to bone marrow failure and often stimulates erythropoiesis in anemias due to deficient red blood cell production.
