dexter A heraldic term indicating the right-hand side of a chain of office or medallion from the point of view of the wearer. It is thus the left-hand side from the point of view of the person looking at the article being worn. The same term is used to indicate the side of a coat-of-arms which appears on the left as one looks at the shield.

dexter A farmer and several of his friends reported coloured lights that landed in a swamp, where they later saw a "pyramid-shaped object" with lights rippling eerily across its surface in the dark. The next night, several girls at a nearby college reported three large coloured lights moving up and down in a "synchronized" way, and two other co-eds reported a glowing disc in the swamp.
