The look of the resulting curve varies, depending on the manner of interpolating the control points. The term curve refers to Linear or cubic NURBS curves. They can not be rendered because they have no thickness, but they have many uses. For example, they can be used as the basis for constructing surfaces. They can also serve as paths along which an object is animated.
