| 설명 | 선천적으로 심장의 구조에 이상이 있는 병. |
||
| 영문 | venereal disease, sexually transmitted diseases | 한글 | 성병 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 설명 | 보편적으로 성교 또는 성기접촉에 의해 걸리는 접촉 전염병으로 매독, 임질, 무른궤양, 샅굴육아종 등을 말한다. 치료는 원인균에 따른 적절한 항생요법이다. |
||
| 영문 | VDRL(venereal disease research laboratory) | 한글 | 성병 연구실험실 |
|---|---|---|---|

| dominant lethal trait | Trait, expressed in the phenotype if present in the genotype, that precludes having descendants. All such cases are necessarily sporadic and must represent new mutations as the usual methods of classical genetics provide no means of demonstrating any genetic component whatsoever, except for tenuous arguments such as advanced paternal age. Molecular biology may help although the methods may be tedious; if there is an epistatic gene that may mask the trait, the logic is more tractable, though complex. (05 Mar 2000) |
|---|---|
| dominant oncogene | <genetics, molecular biology, oncology> A gene that stimulates cell proliferation and can drastically increase the risk of cancer development when present in a single copy. (09 Oct 1997) |
| dominant species | <biology, ecology, zoology> For each stratum, dominant species are those that, when ranked in descending rank order and cumulatively totaled, immediately exceed 50 percent of the total dominance measure, plus any additional species comprising 20 percent or more of the total dominance measure for the stratum. (09 Oct 1997) |
| dominant trait | An outstanding mental or physical characteristic. See: dominance of traits. (05 Mar 2000) |
| medullary cystic kidney disease | <radiology> Mode of inheritance uncertain, usually affects young adults (early 20s), associated with red or blond hair (!!), causes salt wasting, polyuria, azotaemia, affects both kidneys, with progressive disease patients need dialysis or transplant (12 Dec 1998) |
| multicystic dysplastic kidney disease | <radiology> most severe form of renal dysplasia, most common cause of palpaple abdominal mass in infants, unilateral (almost always; if bilateral, death occurs in utero), ureter absent or atretic, not associated with other cysts or with periportal fibrosis, Potter type II (12 Dec 1998) |
| pulpy kidney disease | An enterotoxaemia of sheep caused by the bacterium Clostridium perfringens type D and characterised by sudden death preceded in some cases by excitement, incoordination, and convulsions; also occurs in goats and rarely in cattle. (05 Mar 2000) |
| diabetic kidney disease | Kidney disease and resultant kidney function impairment due to the long standing effects of diabetes on the microvasculature (glomerulus) of the kidney. Features include increased urine protein and declining kidney function. Severe diabetic nephropathy can lead to kidney failure and end-stage renal disease. (27 Sep 1997) |
| kidney disease | <disease> Any one of several chronic conditions that are caused by damage to the cells of the kidney. People who have had diabetes for a long time may have kidney damage. (09 Oct 1997) |
| acute kidney failure | <nephrology> A sudden decline in renal function may be triggered by a number of acute disease processes. Examples include sepsis (infection), shock, trauma, kidney stones, kidney infection, drug toxicity (aspirin or lithium), poisons or toxins (drug abuse) or after injection with an iodinated contrast dye (adverse effect). Chronic renal failure represents a slow decline in kidney function over time. Chronic renal failure may be caused by a number of disorders which include long-standing hypertension, diabetes, congestive heart failure, lupus or sickle cell anaemia. Both forms of renal failure result in a life-threatening metabolic derangement. (27 Sep 1997) |
| acute kidney transplant rejection | <radiology> Findings on ultrasound: globular enlargment of the kidney, swelling and hypoechogenicity of the medullary pyramids, indistinct cortico-medullary junction, foci in the renal cortex (12 Dec 1998) |
| african green monkey kidney cell | <cell culture> Cells taken from the kidneys of the African green monkey Cercopithecus aethiops sabaeus and used to grow certain viruses like poliovirus. (05 Feb 1998) |
| amyloid kidney | A kidney in which amyloidosis has occurred, usually in association with some chronic illness such as multiple myeloma, tuberculosis, osteomyelitis, or other chronic suppurative inflammation; such kidney's are moderately enlarged and grossly manifest a waxy appearance, with amyloid deposited beneath the endothelium in the glomerular loops and in the arterioles, apparently beginning as foci of thickening of the basement membranes. Synonym: waxy kidney. (05 Mar 2000) |
| anterior inferior segmental artery of kidney | Origin, anterior branch of renal. See: segmental arteries of kidney. Synonym: arteria segmenti anterioris inferioris renis, artery of anterior {inferior segment of kidney}. (05 Mar 2000) |
