a small focal collection of pyknotic polymorphonuclear leukocytes within the parakeratotic portion of the stratum corneum, which is one of the cardinal histologic features of active psoriasis, and also found in other dermatoses such as seborrheic dermatitis and Reiter's disease. Called also Munro abscess. Cf. spongiform pustule.
