  • Euglena longa - »õâ A species of ALGAE in the genus EUGLENA, family Euglenaceae. It is a colorless heterotrophic flagellate.
    Synonyms :
  • Euglenida - »õâ A group of unicellular flagellates of ancient eukaryotic lineage with unclear taxonomy. Classification differs depending on what characteristics are used. Some authorities consider them to be an order of PROTOZOA. For others, they are classed as ALGAE due to the presence of CHLOROPLASTS in some genera. However, the origin of the chloroplasts is in dispute and they are missing from many of the genera. Euglenida lack a CELL WALL but are covered by a proteinaceous flexible coat, the pellicle, that allows the cell to change shape.
    Synonyms : Euglenids
  • Eukaryotic Cells - »õâ Cells of the higher organisms, containing a true nucleus bounded by a nuclear membrane.
Synonyms : Cell, Eukaryotic, Cells, Eukaryotic, Eukaryotic Cell
  • Eukaryotic Initiation Factor-1 - »õâ A eukaryotic initiation factor that binds to 40S ribosomal subunits. Although initially considered a "non-essential" factor for eukaryotic transcription initiation, eukaryotic initiation factor-1 is now thought to play an important role in localizing RIBOSOMES at the initiation codon of MRNA.
Synonyms : Eukaryotic Peptide Initiation Factor-1, Eukaryotic Initiation Factor 1, Eukaryotic Peptide Initiation Factor 1, Peptide Initiation Factor EIF 1
  • Eukaryotic Initiation Factor-2 - »õâ Eukaryotic initiation factor of protein synthesis. In higher eukaryotes the factor consists of three subunits: alpha, beta, and gamma. As initiation proceeds, eIF-2 forms a ternary complex with Met-tRNAi and GTP.
Synonyms : EIF-2 alpha, EIF-2 beta, EIF-2 gamma, EIF-2alpha, EIF-2beta, EIF-2gamma, EIF2, Eukaryotic Initiation Factor-2, alpha Subunit, Eukaryotic Initiation Factor-2, beta Subunit, Eukaryotic Initiation Factor-2, gamma Subunit, Eukaryotic Peptide Initiation Factor-2
