an order of perfect fungi of the subphylum Ascomycotina, series Bitunicatae, characterized by flasklike ascocarps in which the hymenium is exposed at maturity and by double-walled asci that develop in cavities in a preformed stroma. It is a large and varied order, and a number of different classifications have been proposed for it. It includes the family Piedraiaceae. Called also Myriangiales.
