| chimera |
An animal composed of tissues of more than one genetic origin. This is usually accomplished by injecting cells from one animal into the egg of another. This can give rise to animals with different colors, etc., on parts of its body. There are no reports of this being done with parrots, but it has been done with chickens (Seo, 1995).
