Provides additional explosive energy release for detonation of a nuclear weapon. Activated by the explosion from the primary assembly. Can be composed of lithium deuteride, uranium and other materials. Within the secondary, lithium is converted to tritium which undergoes fusion with deuterium to create a thermonuclear explosion.
