| glomerulonephritis |
a type of glomerular kidney disease in which the kidneys' filters become inflamed and scarred, and slowly lose their ability to remove wastes and excess fluid from the blood to make urine. glomerulosclerosis - the term used to describe scarring that occurs within the kidneys in the small balls of tiny blood vessels called the glomeruli. The glomeruli assist the kidneys in filtering urine from the blood.

Noun. (Greek, glossa = tongue. Pl., glossae). 1. The median lobe of the maxillae formed by the fusion of the two paraglossae and the two glossae in bees. 2. The paired inner lobes of gnathobases of the labium or fused second maxilla. 3. Loosely used as a synonym for the tongue, especially applied to the coiled structure of the Lepidoptera. See Ligula.
