Coma and convulsive seizures between the 20 th week of pregnancy and the end of the first week postpartum. It develops in 1 out of 200 patients with pregnancy-induced hypertension. Controversy exists over whether this is caused by a lack of adequate nutrition which compromised liver function. ?SYN: Metabolic Toxemia of Late Pregnancy (MTLP) or Eclampsia.
