Tela is a town on the northern Caribbean coast of the Atl?tida department of Honduras..The name Tela is derived from Triunfo de la Cruz. It became an important port in the early 1900s as headquarters of the Tela Railroad Company, later the United Fruit Company whose headquarters was there until 1970.
