A metal with a texture similar to titanium, but a color similar to gold. Used by Omega for the gold-like trim on certain titanium watches. Many of these watches are also available in titanium with real gold trim.

It is named after Tantalus, one of the sons of the Olympian god Zeus of Greek mythology, who suffered from thirst and frustration. Tantalum was first isolated in 1802 as an element from its ores. Chemically as stable as platinum, it is highly corrosion resistant, with an extremely high melting point of about 3,000
