somnoplasty A surgical treatment for snoring. Somnoplasty uses heat energy to remove tissues of the uvula and soft palate. (see: snoring). Somnoplasty is usually done as an office procedure with local anaesthesia. It is not indicated for the treatment of sleep apnea.
