a sterile eruption of pustules superimposed on discrete erythematous plaques involving the volar skin of the hands or feet, or both, usually in the presence of psoriasis at other sites, which may also involve the paronychial skin, and associated with swelling, erythema, and local discomfort. Called also Barber p., pustulosis palmaris et plantaris, and palmoplantar pustulosis. Cf. pustulosis palmaris et plantaris (def. 2).
