| Microsporea |
a class of parasitic protozoa (phylum Microspora), the spores of which have a complex extrusion apparatus of Golgi origin, often including a polaroplast and posterior vacuole and a typically filamentous polar tube extending backward from the polar cap and coiling around inside of the three-layered spore wall; a sporocyst may or may not be present. It comprises two orders: Minisporida and Microsporida.
