major histocompatibility complex is a complex family of genetically inherited proteins that play a critical role in immune response to foreign organisms. It is also involved in autoimmune disease and in transplant rejection. MHC are located on cell surface and work like receptors, that interact with immune cells. In mammals there are 2 classes of MHC :
