a saltwater invertebrate which drifts with the currents to get from place to place. They are abundant in sounds and estuaries during summer and eat small organisms that they sting with tentacles which are covered by an umbrella shaped dome. Jellyfish are eaten by only a few animals, most notably sea turtles.
