| RNA, transfer, amino acid-specific | A group of transfer rnas which are specific for carrying each one of the 20 amino acids to the ribosome in preparation for protein synthesis. (12 Dec 1998) |
|---|---|
| RNA, transfer, amino acyl | Intermediates in protein biosynthesis. The compounds are formed from amino acids, ATP and transfer RNA, a reaction catalyzed by aminoacyl trna synthetase. They are key compounds in the genetic translation process. (12 Dec 1998) |
| RNA, transfer, arg | A transfer RNA which is specific for carrying arginine to sites on the ribosomes in preparation for protein synthesis. (12 Dec 1998) |
| RNA, transfer, asn | A transfer RNA which is specific for carrying asparagine to sites on the ribosomes in preparation for protein synthesis. (12 Dec 1998) |

| RNA, transfer, met | A transfer RNA which is specific for carrying methionine to sites on the ribosomes in preparation for protein elongation. Initiation of protein synthesis uses trna(f)met in prokaryotic cells and trna(I)met in eukaryotic cells. (12 Dec 1998) |
| RNA, transfer, phe | A transfer RNA which is specific for carrying phenylalanine to sites on the ribosomes in preparation for protein synthesis. (12 Dec 1998) |
| gamete intrafallopian transfer |
An assisted reproductive technique that involves removing sperm and eggs, mixing them together and placing them into the fallopian tubes.

| gamete intrafallopian transfer |
This procedure differs from IVF in that retrieved eggs and sperm are injected into a woman's fallopian tubes where fertilization can take place. Because fertilization does not take place outside the body, there is no embryo transfer step in GIFT.

| gamete intrafallopian transfer |
In this procedure, the eggs and sperm (the gametes) are placed surgically into the fallopian tubes. Fertilization, therefore, occurs in the tubes, not in the laboratory. GIFT requires a laparoscopy. Bennett Fertility no longer performs GIFT, preferring instead to perform IVF. GIFT requires at least one healthy fallopian tube and is indicated in cases of unexplained infertility and endometriosis. In GIFT, ovarian stimulation and oocyte retrieval are performed in a similar fashion to IVF. ...

| gamete intrafallopian transfer |
A procedure in which eggs are removed from the ovary via laparoscopy. The eggs are then placed with sperm into the fallopian tube (the tube leading from the ovary to the uterus), where fertilization might occur.
