a form of neurodermatitis occurring predominantly in middle-aged or older men of Jewish extraction, characterized by intense pruritus with exudative, weeping discoid and oval patches scattered irregularly over most of the body, many of which are of the eczematous type and undergo lichenification, or they may resemble lesions seen in various other cutaneous disorders such as mycosis fungoides or lichen planus. Called also oid-oid disease and Sulzberger-Garbe syndrome.
