a highly malignant, metastatic, primitive small round cell tumor of bone, usually occurring in the diaphyses of long bones, ribs, and flat bones of children or adolescents. It is characterized by saucerization of the cortex, patchy, permeative destruction, and often a large soft tissue mass; the most common symptoms include pain, swelling, leukocytosis, and fever. Called also Ewing's tumor.
