| 설명 | 협심증은 심장동맥의 혈류를 좋게하거나 심장이 혈류에 비해서 많은 일을 하는 것을 억제함으로써 치료될 수 있다. ① nitrate계통의 약물: 혈관을 이완시키는 작용을 함으로써 심장동맥의 혈류를 좋게 한다. ② 칼슘통로차단제(verapamil, nifedipine): 모든 근육의 수축에는 Ca이 관여한다. 즉 Ca이 있어야만 근육의 수축이 가능해진다. 그러므로 Ca이 세포속으로 들어가는 것을 억제하는 약제는 근육의 수축을 막는다. 이 약은 심장의 근육에 작용하여 심장 근육의 수축을 억제하며 심장이 과도하게 일하는 것을 막고, 또 심장동맥의 수축에 관여하는 근육에 작용을 하여 심장동맥을 이완시켜서 혈류를 좋게 한다. ③ 베타차단제(beta-blocker): 신체의 운동량이나 기타의 요구에 의해서 심장을 빨리 뛰게하는 신경은 바로 베타-교감신경이다. 교감신경계란 사람이 위급한 상황에서 작용하는 자율신경계이다. 즉 사람이 긴장하거나 싸울 경우에 전형적으로 교감신경계가 작용한다. 즉 심장이 뛰거나 소화가 않되거나 동공이 커지는 것 따위가 바로 교감신경계의 역할이라고 할 수 있다. 이 교감신경계에서 말초장기에 보내는 신경이 교감신경이다. 그러므로 심장에서 심장을 신체에 필요에 따라서 많은 일을 하게하는 신경을 차단할 경우에는 협심증을 치료할 수 있게 된다(심장의 산소나 기타 영양분의 수요를 줄인다). |

| 설명 | 강박사고(obsession)은 반복되는 사고를 말하며, 강박행위(compulsion)는 반복되는 행동을 말한다. 즉 반복되는 사고에 따라 반복적인 행동을 수행하는 장애를 말한다. 이때 반복적인 사고는 이론적으로 이해되지 않는 경우가 많고, 본인도 이런 사고가 이해되지 않는다는 사실을 알고 고치려고 하지만, 잘 되지 않는다. 또한 계속적으로 이런 사고에 따른 반복적인 행동을 하며, 이런 행동을 수행치 않을 시, 본인의 의지와 무관하게 몹시 불안해하고, 초조해한다. |

| 설명 | 반복되는 공황발작(panic attack: 갑작스런 공포상태의 발병)과 신경과민을 나타내는 경우를 말함. 공황발작은 단독으로 일어나기보다는 오랜 긴장상태에서 주기적으로 일어나는 현상으로 보인다. 공황발작의 증상은 급격한 자율신경자극증상으로 호흡곤란, 심장박동항진, 흉부통증, 흉부압박감, 질식감, 현기증, 불안정한 느낌 등이다. 대개 갑자기 일어나 수분동안 지속했다가 소실되는 것이 보통이다. 드물게는 수시간 지속되기도 한다. 공황발작은 주기적으로 반복되면서 만성화하는 경향이 많다. 신경과민은 공황발작이 없는 시기의 증상이다. 감당키 어려운 공황발작에 대한 예기불안(그 일이 일어나지 않을까 하는 느낌 때문에 오는 불안)이 있고 그 때문에 조심스러워지고 주위를 살피는 태도도 나타나서 신경은 극도로 날카로워진다. 공포장애에서도 이런 공황발작이 올 수 있으나, 이 경우는 특별한 대상이나 상황이 있는 것에 반해 공황장애는 이런 특별한 사건없이 주기적으로 발생한다. 치료는 항불안제와 때로는 항우울제를 사용한다. |

| 설명 | 심리적 불안정이나 불안 등을 주 특징으로 하는 정신과적 병태. 대표적인 예로는 공포증(phobia)와 공황장애(panic disorder), 전반적 불안장애(generalized anxiety disorder) 등이 있다. 공포증이란 특정한 장소나 상황에 대해서 병적인 불안을 느끼는 것으로 광장공포증(agoraphobia): 탁 트인 공간을 무서워함. 사회공포층(social phobia): 다른 사람앞에 서는 것을 무서워 함. 고소공포층(acrophobia): 높은 곳에 가는 것을 무서워함. 진폐공포증(claustrophobia): 밀폐된 공간을 무서워함. 동물공포증(zoophobia): 동물을 병적으로 무서워함 등을 포함한다. 공황장애(panic disorde)란 외부의 위험한 자극이 없는데도 불구하고 갑자기 극심한 공포를 느끼는 것을 말한다. 대개 심장이 심하게 뛰거나 식은 땀을 흘리고, 실신, 호흡곤란 등의 증상을 동반한다. 전반적 불안장애(generalized anxiety disorder)란 1개월이상 지속적인 불안을 느끼는 것을 말한다. 대개 사소한 일상의 일에 대한 불안을 느끼며, 불안의 대상이 없는 경우에는 언제 불안을 느낄지 모른다는 불안감(예기불안)을 호소한다. 대개 쇠약, 어지러움, 손떨림, 땀을 흘리는 등의 신체적 증상을 동반한다. |
