| nasal polyp | <otolaryngology> A projection of the mucosa lining the nasal and paranasal sinuses that is rounded and elongated within the nasal cavity. A common cause for nasal airway obstruction in patients who suffer from allergic sinusitis. They are found more commonly in those with chronic allergic rhinitis or sinusitis.
