repair of an inguinal hernia by suturing the conjoined tendon (inguinal falx) first to the pectineal ligament (Cooper's ligament) from the pubic tubercle laterally to the femoral canal and then to the inguinal ligament beyond the femoral canal, with recreation of the internal inguinal ring.
