| multi-infarct dementia | <neurology> This form of dementia is caused by a number of strokes in the brain. These strokes can cause specific symptoms, depending on their severity and location and can cause general symptoms of dementia. MID cannot be treated, once the nerve cells die, they cannot be replaced.
